Assertive to Imperative Sentence Transformation Rules (SSC ও HSC)
এই নোটটিতে Assertive Sentence কে Imperative Sentence এ রূপান্তরের সকল নিয়ম স্ববিস্তারে বর্ণিত হয়েছে। এসএসসি পরীক্ষায় বিগত বছরগুলোতে আসা এবং আগামীতে আসার সম্ভাবনাময় সকল ধরনের উদাহরণ বাক্যের transformation সংযোজন করা হয়েছে। এসএসসি এইচএসসির পূণাঙ্গ প্রস্তুতির জন্য অন্যান্য sentence transformation নোটগুলো এই নোটের শেষে সংযুক্ত করা হলো।
Imperative sentence দ্বারা কোনো আদেশ(order), অনুরোধ(request) বা উপদেশ(advise) প্রকাশ করা হয়। Assertive sentence বা, Declarative sentence দ্বারা বিবৃতি প্রকাশ পায়। তাই,
💡সকল Assertive Sentence-কে Imperative-এ রূপান্তর করা যায় না।
কেবল মাত্র ওই সকল Assertive sentence কেই Imperative sentence এ রূপান্তর করা যায় যেখানে কর্তব্য, উপদেশ বা প্রয়োজনীয়তার ইঙ্গিত থাকে।
📌সহজে চেনার উপায়: Assertive sentence টিতে should, ought to, have to উপস্থিত থাকলে তাকে সাধারণত Imperative এ রূপান্তর করা যায়।
বাক্যের গঠন ও ভাবপ্রকাশের ওপর ভিত্তি করে Assertive Sentence মূলত দুই প্রকারের হয়ে থাকে। যথা:
- Affirmative Sentence (হ্যাঁ-বোধক বাক্য)
- Negative Sentence (না-বোধক বাক্য)
Imperative Sentence-এ রূপান্তর করার সময় মূল Assertive বাক্যটি Affirmative না কি Negative, তার উপর ভিত্তি করে ভিন্ন নিয়ম অনুসরণ করতে হয়।
সাবজেক্ট 2nd Person অর্থাৎ You হলে
Rule 1: বাক্যটি হ্যাঁ-বোধক হলে, সরাসরি মূল Verb দিয়ে শুরু করে Imperative বাক্যে রূপান্তর করা যায়।
নিয়ম: Main verb-এর base form + verb-এর পরের অংশ।

Rule 2: বাক্যটি Negative বা না-বোধক হলে এবং not শব্দটি উপস্থিত থাকলে, বাক্যের শুরুতে Don't ব্যবহার করে imperative বাক্যে রূপান্তর করা হয়।
নিয়ম: Don't বা Do not + main verb-এর base form + verb-এর পরের অংশ।

Rule 3: বাক্যটি না-বোধক হলে এবং never শব্দটি থাকলে, বাক্যের শুরুতে never বসিয়ে imperative sentence এ রূপান্তর করা যায়।

সাবজেক্ট 1st বা 3rd person হলে
Rule 1: বাক্যটি হ্যাঁ-বোধক হলে, Imperative sentence এ রূপান্তরের সময় Let ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
নিয়ম: Let + us/him/her/them + verb-এর base form + বাকি অংশ।

💡Everybody সাবজেক্ট হিসেবে থাকলে তার objective form হিসেবে us ব্যবহার করা হয়।

শিক্ষার্থীরা প্রায়ই "we" বা "us" শব্দযুক্ত যেকোনো assertive sentence-এ "Let us" নিয়ম প্রয়োগ করার চেষ্টা করে, এমনকি যখন sentence-টি নিছক একটি বাস্তব ঘটনা বা মতামত প্রকাশ করে, কোনো উপদেশ বা কর্তব্য নয়। যখন Assertive sentence বাস্তবতা বর্ণনা করে — এতে কোনো implied command থাকে না — তখন জোর করে imperative-এ রূপান্তর করলে শুধু গঠন নয় sentence-এর প্রকৃত অর্থও বদলে যায়। যেমনঃ
❌We do not look down upon the poor. → Let us not look down upon the poor. (ভুল transformation)
উপরিউক্ত বাক্যটি একটি সত্য মনোভাব প্রকাশ করছে তাই, এই বাক্যটিকে imperative এ রূপান্তর করা যাবে না। কারণ, রূপান্তর করলে মূল sentence-টি বাস্তব বিবৃতি থেকে পরামর্শে পরিণত হয়ে যায় এবং অর্থ পরিবর্তিত হয়ে যায়।
Rule 2: বাক্যটি না-বোধক হলেও, Imperative sentence এ রূপান্তরের সময় Let ব্যবহার করতে হয় কিন্তু not ও ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
নিয়ম: Let + us/him/her/them + not + verb-এর base form + বাকি অংশ।

📌শুধু "should" নয় — have to (বা, has to), must, এবং need to ও একই ধরনের বাধ্যবাধকতা বোঝায় এবং এগুলো দিয়েও Let-transformation করা যায়। নিচে দেয়া উদাহরণগুলো ধারণাটি স্পষ্ট করে বুঝতে সহায়তা করবে।

মনে রাখার বিষয়: "Let us / Let him / Let her" নিয়ম প্রয়োগ করার আগে দেখতে হবে sentence-টি উপদেশ, কর্তব্য বা প্রয়োজনীয়তা প্রকাশ করছে কিনা (should, ought to, have to, must) — শুধু "we," "us," বা 3rd person subject আছে কিনা তা নয়।
