The fungi are a very large group of organisms. Their size varies a lot. The single-celled yeasts are very small in size. On contrary, some are so enormous that their underground parts occupy an area greater than a football field.
Fungi are Saprotrophs, meaning they feed on dead organisms.
Reproduction in Fungi
Fungi reproduce both sexually and asexually.
Single-celled yeasts reproduce asexually by binary fission. All other fungi reproduce by the production of spores.
