Assertive to Imperative

To transform an affirmative sentence into imperative follow the structure given below. 

      "Base form of the main verb + rest of the sentence after the verb"

1. You ought to obey your parents. 
= Obey your parents. 
2. You should think before you leap. 
= Think before you leap. 
3. You read the book. 
= Read the book. 

To transform a negative sentence into imperative follow the structure given below. 

1. You do not go out. 
= Don't go out. 
2. You should not go out in cold weather. 
= Don't go out in cold weather. 
3. You should not kill your time. 
= Don't kill your time. 

To transform an assertive sentence (with 1st person/3rd person subject) into imperative follow the structure given below. 

1. We should go out. 
= Let us go out. 
2. We should drink tube-well water. [Jashore Board 2024]
= Let us drink tube-well water. 
3. We should go out at night to enjoy moonlit night. [Dhaka Board 2023]
= Let us go out at night to enjoy moonlit night. 
4. We should read newspaper to know the outside world more. [Rajshahi Board 2023]

Declarative sentences cannot be transformed into imperative sentences.
